Reco Jeans Poem in My Pocket Contest

Reco Jeans is calling all poets!  Do you have an artistic expression you’d like to convey via fashion?  Let us explain.  We want to publish your poem on our next season in denim.  Is that a poem in your pocket? Yes, it is!  Reco is seeking creative individuals to write poems for our pockets. 3 winners will have their work published on the inside pocket lining of Reco Jeans!  In addition, your poem will be printed on the outside hangtag with your name clearly visible noting your work! Different? YES!  Why not?! Reco is all about having FUN, with designs and we encourage expression through individual expression.  Here’s a little info about Reco Jeans to get your started.

 

Reco Jeans was born from a simple idea, to reduce waste yet preserve style. We’re simply having fun with fashion while helping out a cause. Our company is about creating interesting designs through personal expression. Each designer at Reco Jeans has a unique inspiration which shows through their individual creations. We each are thankful for the opportunity to express creativity through fashion. We love what we do! When you wear Reco Jeans, you’re wearing someone’s story. It’s an added bonus the denim we use is recycled.

 

Here’s how we do it: Reco has developed a new line of recycled denim. All the excess denim, threads, rough edges and unused material gets recycled and intertwined with a combination of recycled and fresh cottons to create an innovative new form of fabric. A fabric so unique, universities and green organizations are researching it as an additional way to conserve and improve the environment.  We are the only jean company to use this fabric solely on all denim products.

 

Poem in my Pocket contest rules:

 

1. Poem must be short!  48 ½ words or less!
2. Poem theme must capture the essence of Reco Jeans and relate to both men and women.  
3. Poem must be written in English or translated
4. Please provide your jeans size, t-shirt size, mailing address and phone number in case you’re selected!
   • Reco will NOT provide your info to ANY 3^rd parties!  Dont’ worry- we hate that crap too!

 

1. Must be submitted via the bulk of the email.
   • No attachments! (Attachments will not be considered)

   • Due Date: No Later than December 15^th, 2008 @ 11:42 pm

 

Judging Criteria:

33% creativity with language and wordplay

33% theme – does the poem capture the essence of Reco Jeans?

33% Poem must relate to both men and won universally

1% Awesomeness

1^st place: Jeans with your poem in the pocket/ T-shirt/ Hangtag/ Limited Edition Reco Jeans Tote

2^nd place: Jeans with your poem in the pocket/ T-shirt/ Hangtag

3^rd place: Pocket with poem on it/ T-shirt/ Hangtag
